RAYHAN THOMAS ALL SET FOR PGA TOUR FINAL QUALIFYING

Dubai born Rayhan Thomas is set to give it all he’s got during the Final Stage of the PGA TOUR  Qualifying School in Florida this week

The First Stage in early October at Wilderness Ridge Country Club saw Thomas finish in tied 13th and progressed to Second Stage at the end of last month at The Landings Golf & Athletic Club, where he finished tied 12th.

The balance of the Final Stage field is made up of those exempt from various qualifying through their status on the PGA TOUR and will battle it out over 72 holes on the Dye’s Valley Course at  TPC Sawgrass.

‘I am really excited about this week. I will mentally approach this week exactly as I have done in the last few tournaments and give it all I have, go as low as I can and see where it gets me come Sunday night,’ Rayhan Thomas

Feeling Confident

Rayhan Thomas told WorldWide Golf:  ‘I am feeling pretty good  been resting and practising with some of my College teammates since getting through the Second Stage. I’ve managed to play nine holes at the Dye Valley course earlier in the week, 18 holes at Sawgrass Country Club yesterday and looking to play the back nine Dye Valley later today. The golf courses are impressive, all Bermuda, the rough is tricky, greens are fast and you have to drive the ball well. If the wind picks up it will be a real test.’

‘The weather forecast for Thursday is cold, but then it looks to clear up and be nice.’

Challenge Ahead

‘I have not played either of the golf courses before this week – and I am really excited about what is ahead of me over the next few days. I will mentally approach this week exactly as I have done in the last few tournaments and give it all I have, go as low as I can and see where it gets me come Sunday night.’

Who Gets A Card?

The top five players and ties from the 171 player field will earn their full PGA Tour Cards.

Those below this bracket to tied 40th and ties will gain their Korn Ferry Cards and those below this will receive Conditional Membership of the PGA Tour Americas.

Thomas tees off at 6.50 pm (local UAE time) tomorrow (Thursday) in round one at Sawgrass Country Club off the 10th tee.
