Dubai resident Adri Arnaus narrowly misses out on Korn Ferry Tour debut

European Tour star and Worldwide Golf columnist Adri Arnaus narrowly missed out on a Korn Ferry Tour debut after finishing two shots adrift in Monday qualifying at Highland Meadows Golf Club, Colorado.

The Spaniard was playing in his second Korn Ferry Tour Monday qualifying after heading to the States earlier this month in a bid to get back to competitive golf at the earliest opportunity. The 25-year-old finished in a share of 34th place in his debut outing in Utah before his tied 15th at yesterday’s qualifier in Colorado.

“We decided to come out to America and play the Korn Ferry Monday qualifying to get back to competitive action at the earliest opportunity,” said Arnaus. “I had a discussion with my team during the lockdown and we had a look at all our options and flying over to America was the number one choice to get back to playing. It’s been an exciting adventure since we landed and hopefully, I can play well in the Monday qualifiers and earn a spot into a tournament while we are out here. I’m going to make the most of my time here and put in a lot of work so my game is back to it’s best.”

Arnaus will now make his way to San Antonio, Texas for the next Monday qualifier and it’s a place he has fond memories of having spent four and a half years studying at Texas A&M University while taking part in their golf programme.

“When I saw the Korn Ferry schedule and saw that there was an event in San Antonio I was delighted,” he says. “I fondly remember my days at Texas A&M University so we’re going to go back there and take advantage of the great facilities on offer including the golf course and gym. I’m also really excited to be meeting up with some of my old college teammates. It should be a lot of fun and hopefully, I’ll play well in the Monday qualifier and earn my spot in the San Antonio Challenge.”
