Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge 2016 Hosts Final Qualifier at Dubai’s Els Club

The Els Club Golf Course, Dubai, UAE, has been announced as the venue for the final qualifying round of the 2016 Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge, one of the most prestigious sporting events in the region.

The final qualifier will tee off at 1pm on Thursday, 8th December 2016, and interested golfers can register their two-member teams at www.xeroxcgc.com

This qualifier is the last opportunity to compete for a space at the grand final, which will be played in Ajman, UAE, mid-December 2016. Awarded the ‘Best Corporate Golf Event in the Middle East’ – the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge has grown in popularity over the years, and this year has seen players from qualifying rounds from the GCC and South Africa reserve their space to compete in the final championship.

“We are delighted that the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge 2016 will conclude qualifying rounds on a positive high at Dubai’s Els Club this Thursday. We are expecting a strong field to challenge this magnificent course and we wish the participating teams the very best in their aim of securing the last available space in the grand final”, said Chris Govier, General Manager Xerox Emirates. “2016 has seen another very successful series and we are encouraged with the continued support the Challenge receives from our golfing community and our event partners.”

Featuring strong elevation changes for visual and strategic interest, the Els Club course stretches over 7,538 yards with four sets of tees, giving players a selection of differing lengths from which to play. The course offers players a challenging round accompanied by all the essential facilities that extend beyond the immaculate fairways and greens. The Els Club was named ‘Best Golf Course in Dubai’ by CNBC Arabian Property Awards in 2009, and has proven its charm to all golfing enthusiasts

“An exciting 10-months of golf has been experienced across our region, and South Africa, through the 2016 Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge, and we wish the players in this final qualifier an enjoyable day’s play and the very best of luck”.

“We look forward to welcoming all winners to the grand final in Ajman mid this month” added H.E. Faisal Al Nuaimi, General Manager of Ajman Tourism Development Department, 2016 Host City Sponsor.

The qualifying round will also bring players the opportunity to play in the finals by scoring the most across holes and entering the ‘Golden Ticket’ draw for wild-card entry to the grand final.

Additional prizes during the qualifier include the ‘King of Pars’, sponsored by deVere Acuma, for teams with the best performances in Pars 3, 4, and 5.

The Emirate of Ajman has partnered with the Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge 2016 as host city, and supporting destinations include Ajman Palace, Ajman Kempinski, and Ajman Saray. Fairmont Ajman hotels and the Al Zorah Golf Club are venue sponsors, and other sponsors of the 2016 edition are Chrysler and Select Property.
